Unexpectedly on Sunday, December 10, 2017, Yvonne Duffy Merry of White Oak passed into life eternal.  She was born on Sunday, September 19, 1948, in McKeesport to the late William H. and Margaret McMillan Duffy.  She graduated from McKeesport High School and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from California University of Pennsylvania.

She met a married the love of her life, Richard W. Merry of the Menzie Dairy Family,  and married him in February of 1975, Yvonne and her friend Ann (Ratesic) Bell had an antique business called The Back Porch in McKeesport in the 70’s.  Also, Yvonne represented many cosmetic companies, primarily Estee Lauder and Clinique, at Kaufmanns, Hornes, and Gimbels Department Stores during the 70's and 80's.   She also sold real estate  for Bazzone Reality during the 80's.  More than professionally, Yvonne concentrated her life to travel and leisure.  Spending time with her husband abroad was her favorite activity, as she and her husband traveled the globe in her lifetime.

Beside her devoted husband, Richard, she is survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Merry) Dunlevy (Benjamin Noonan) of McKeesport, two granddaughters, Casey Dunlevy and Corey Dunlevy, and a great granddaughter Emma Mae Kietz, and a brother William Duffy. Her beloved grandson, Ryan Sance, preceded her in death in July of 2017.  Ryan was the light of Yvonne's life, and they now reside together in eternity--and will wait to receive the rest of family and friends to follow.

The family will receive friends at a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the McKeesport Presbyterian Church, 1510 Versailles Avenue, McKeesport, Pennsylvania from Noon until 1:00 P.M., the time of Yvonne’s funeral service.  It will be presided over by Reverend L. Stephen Smith, a close family friend, and the same minister that united Yvonne and Richard in Holy Matrimony at their Vow Renewal in 1995.

There will be a reception of friends immediately following the service at Twin Oaks Lounge, 1985 Lincoln Way, White Oak.

Theodore Schleifer of SCHLEIFER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Inc., (412-271-1361) is assisting the family with arrangements.

I knew Yvonne before high school, we were both members (along with our brothers )of McKeesport Drill team.  We spent many Saturdays at practice, marched in countless parades , spent many Fall Fantasy nights marching in Kennywood.  My Grandpap lived in the Duffy's neighborhood.  More recently we would always run into each other an one store or another, stand and reminisce and then be on our way.  Such a kind and gentle soul.  You will be misssed Yvonne.
