ELMER GRIFFIN OBITUARY

Elmer L. Griffin, 72, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Dec. 27, 1949, in McKeesport. He was the son of the late Frank "Sparky" and Doris (Hogan) Griffin. Prior to retirement, Elmer was employed in the customer service department at CVS Pharmacare of Monroeville. He was an active member of New Hope Presbyterian Church of North Huntingdon. Elmer had a love of American history, especially a passion for the Civil War era. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Janis (Wahrenberger) Griffin; two children, Kristen Kelly (Chris), of North Huntingdon, and Daniel Griffin (Carissa), of Greenwood, S.C.; three grandchildren, Niko Kelly, Gunnar Griffin and Grayson Griffin; one sister, Judy Hardy (Dan), of Covington, Ga.; nieces, Jill, Beth and Susan; and a nephew, Scott. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the OTT FUNERAL HOME, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in New Hope Presbyterian Church.
