tribute by Deb YednakLouis Huff, This classmate was a fellow student at the Vocational High School. He and a group of other men enlisted in the U.S. Marines shortly after we graduated. There were many a young men who left for the service during the Vietnam Crisis from all over the McKeesport Area. Louis and I wuold play basketball early in the mornings with a group of guys after we cleaned the Gym floors. A janitor let us in the gym to help him. We use to find all the pocket change that people dropped from their pockets after we pushed all the bleachers back against the walls. That sure did buy alot of school lunches during basketball seasons. We did that for the three years we attending the Vocational School. That was some good times we had before we went to our classes during those highschool days. Louis Huff was a fine young man who laid his life down when he tried to go and help a fellow marine when he was fatally wounded. Also, he had an older brother who was also a U.S. M.C. which also served in Vietnam War. I know he was from the east end of McKeesport and the Highland Grove area. I heard a story that they were related to an N.F.L. football player named Sam Huff who played for the New York Giants. Thank you classmates for letting me share this information Lawrence Warren Ault [ 12 E 2 Electrical Shop Voc High ]
