When Davy moved up from Uniontown, in 1963 I believe, I was his first real friend at Francis McClure Jr High. I spent a lot of time at his home in Haler Hights, playing basketball on his front street, etc.  I got to know his mother and step-father well. We had some really great times together at McClure. He soon moved on to be a super basketball player, and school personality, at McClure and MHS, and I was sort of left behind, which was OK, because he was athleticly so much better than I. We'd see each other in the high schools halls from time-to-time, and he'd always wave or nod. Many, many years later, I ran into him while at a reunion meeting at the Waterfront Resturant in Boston. He was with a friend from his work, - also a MHS grad I believe, - I don't recall his name. They came over to our table and we all exchanged pleasantries. He shock hands with the guys at the table, but didn't recognise me. He and the friend he was with then walked over to the bar. When he got to the bar,  he apparently asked his friend "Who was the big guy I shock hands with at that reunion meeting table." His freind knew me somehow, and told him who I was. He immediately walked back to our table; I stood up; he put his arms around me, and gave me this great big hug! He said: "Rick, I'm so sorry, but I didn't recognise you." I said that was OK, since over the years we had all changed a lot. We bear hugged each other again, and they walked back to the bar, with him looking back. He and I were great friends "way, way back when", but we all move on in our own ways, and that's OK, - such is life. I was greatly saddened when I heard of his passing.  I had tears in my eyes, and have them now.  He was a good friend, - way back when.  Rick
