
Janet Flegal
1948-11-26 2016-11-29Janet Buti Flegal, age 68, of the Tenth Ward section of McKeesport, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016. She was born in McKeesport on November 26, 1948 and is the daughter of the late Fillipo and Bertha (Zyskowski) Buti. Janet is survived by her husband Clifford Wesley Flegal, Sr., son; Thomas Wesley (Jessica) Mihun of McKeesport, stepsons; Clifford Wesley Flegal of Phoenix, Arizona and Kevin Wallace Flegal of Ft. Worth, Texas, and sister; Ernestina Pomnian of Beaver Falls.
Janet was a banker for PNC for many years and was active in many community organizations. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and president of its Christian Mothers, and a team member for “On Mission for Church Alive”, treasurer of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Westinghouse #759 in Turtle Creek, a member of the former St. Martin de Porres Christian Mothers, former CCD teacher in various local churches, the Mon River Fleet Lions where she served as a committee person for Women of Achievement, the McKeesport Garden Club, a friend of the Trail of the McKeesport Trail Commission, past treasurer of the American Croatian Club in McKeesport, an auxiliary member of the Dravosburg American Legion and the E. McKeesport VFW. Janet was the Democratic Committeewoman of the 1st District, Tenth Ward, secretary of Corporal Carl A. Everett of VFW Post 514, was the head of the Tenth Ward Task Force and currently serving on the Zoning Board for the City of McKeesport. She was a volunteer for the McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center and for UPMC McKeesport Hospital gift shop.
