Comment: Career in Higher Education has spanned 43 years at 9 colleges and universities in 7 states. I have truly enjoyed working with students and watching them grow into tremendous leaders. I've had former student employees become Governor (Terry McAuliffe of Virginia) ; Ambassadors (Tom Donlan) numerous state senators and legislators, college presidents and so many others who make important contributions to their communities. This has been so gratifying. I am married to a wonderful woman with whom we have 2 daughters and I am so fortunate to have 2 step-sons and 2 grandkids as well. It's been a terrific life with lots more to come. Looking forward to seeing all of my friends and classmates at our 50th reunion. Go Tigers. |

Comment:
The Committee’s Effort The committee, the core of which has been together for 40 years has seen it all. We struggle every Reunion cycle to plan the best possible weekend for the entire class; no local needs to plan a reunion to see locals. Additionally, no one can predict the turnout or reasons why people come or not. We struggle, THANKLESSLY, to simply provide a venue, food and the chance to reconnect. We do not work in a vacuum and have always sought out input from all classmates. No one Reunion, except the 10th, was attended in great numbers. Venues and locations have changed through the years with no one being a big winner. This 50th Reunion, now that most are retired, provided us a very unique opportunity to piggy back on one of McKeesport’s iconic and well attended community events, International Village. Now that's a memory from our high school days. In order to do so, the Village operating Tues, Weds & Thurs set us up for a Friday Reunion. Actually, all of our Reunions have started on Friday night, casual, but still well attended, even at times better than Sat night. So it's no surprise that we are gathering on Friday night. So, the moment you step on a plane, you already know that when you arrive at your destination, that both a car and a hotel are needed. Convenience however is a state of mind, people travel the world and normally accept the circumstances of their locale and environment. We all on the committee are looking forward to seeing returnees as well as newcomers, and are doing our best on your behalf. Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger |

Comment: I've spent a half century in the Boston area, but still feel that the Pittsburgh area is home. WIth a career that included radio, starting with WIXZ in the Rock and Gold years and a few decades on public and CBS radio nationally. Founded and ran a consulting firm supporting global clients for many years. Now working with startups and emerging companies here and abroad, hosting a global entrepreneurial roundtable, and teaching a communcation and story master class for CEOs. Continuing to work just as much energy as I did in my salad years. Written a book or two refuse to commit to being the age I (and we) are. I am grateful that McKeesport was so instrumental and influential. |
